9 Days Northen Laos

Mouang Khoua – Phongsaly – Bountai – Oudomxay – Nong Khiaw – Mouang Ngoi Kao – Pak Ou – Luangprabang.

Day 01 : Arrive at Tai Chang border( Laos – Vietnam border ) – Mai District – Muangkhoua(-/-/D)
After passing the checking point ( Tay Trang – Panghok, Laos – Vietnam border) you will meet your guide. Then we drive to Mai District. Explore the hill tribe villages of Tai Dam, Khmu, and then we drive ahead to Meuang Khoua, the peaceful town located on the bank of Nam Ou river, explore Meuang Khoua and its surroundings. Dinner and overnight at a local hotel in MeuangKhoua.

Day 02 : Meuang Khoua –  Ban Hatsa –  Phongsaly(B/L/D).
After breakfast, we take a boat trip upstream on the Nam Ou River to Hatsa, on our boat trip we have a nice time exploring the hill tribe villages of Khmu, Laoseng, and Phounoy, and also catch the wonderful scenery of the Nam Ou River. Then we reach Ban Hatsa pier where we finish our boat trip. We continue our trip by land, we drive up to Phongsaly, the land of multi-hill tribes, Phongsaly is located in the northern top of Laos, which lets you have a nice time exploring the mountainous landscape of Phongsaly Province. Dinner and overnight at a hotel in Phongsaly.

Day 03:  Phongsaly- full day Phongsaly and its surroundings(B/L/D) 
After breakfast, Let’s go walking and shopping at Phongsaly morning fresh market. Then visit the Ethnic Group Museum where we can see how hill tribe people manage their living style. Visit the old town village. Lunch at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, we drive to Ban Komaen, the village of 400 year 400-year-old Tea tree plantation, and a short trek around the Tea plantation. Drive back to Phongsaly. Overnight in Phongsaly.

Day 04:  Phongsaly  –  Bounneua – Bountai (B/L/D)
After breakfast, we drive to Bunneua and explore its surroundings and hill tribe villages. On the way, we will stop at Ban Yor located at T- the junction linked from Phongsaly to Meuangla( China). We continue our trip to Bountai. Visit the former French camp and its surroundings in Bountai. Overnight at a hotel in Bountai.

Day 05:  Bountai – Paknamnoi – Muangla –  Oudomxay(B/L/D)
Today we drive forward to Oudomxay. On our trip, we stopped to visit the hill tribe villages of Iko Poulee, Iko Erpa, and Iko Pala. We reach Pak Nam noy for lunch, then we stop at Meuang La to visit the mysterious temple of Meuang La and drive ahead to Oudomxay, the central province of Northern Laos. Overnight at a hotel in Oudomxay.

Day 06 : Oudomxay – Nongkhiaw –  Muangngoi Kao(B/L/D)
After breakfast, we drive to northern Luangprabang to Nong Khiaw, a small town located on the Nam Ou river bank with a wonderful landscape surrounding it. Then we take a boat upstream to Muang Ngoi Kao, a small village with a peaceful and calm atmosphere. Overnight at a guesthouse in Muang Ngoi Kao.

Day 07 : Muangngoi Kao – Pak ou –  Luangprabang(B/L/D)
Breakfast, our excursion by boat on the Nam Ou river, on the way we will stop to visit Pak Ou cave, a famous mysterious cave located on the side of the Mekong bank with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues. During the Boat trip on the Mekong, stop at Ban Xang Hai, this village is famous for producing rice whisky. Then we reach Luangprabang, the world heritage city. Overnight at a hotel in Luangprabang.

Day 08: Luangprabang – half-day City tour – Kwangsi waterfall( – / L/D)
After breakfast, in the morning we explore the world heritage city by visiting the Royal Palace Museum which hosts a range of interesting artifacts, including the temples of Wat Sene, Wat Mai, and Wat Xiengthong, the most interesting temple with the charming and sacred temple in Luangprabang. Lunch at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon we drive out of the town to Kwangsi waterfall, explore the waterfall, and relax or swim in the swimming pool area of the waterfall, then we drive back to Luangprabang, on the way back we have a nice time to visit a Hmong tribe village.

Day 09: Luangprabang – Departure(-/-/-)
Depending on your flight/journey time, take your relaxing time before transferring to the airport or Bus station for departure.
